I represent journalists, academics, whistleblowers, advocacy organizations, and everyday individuals seeking records under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), and I litigate the government’s failure to produce them.

I work with clients to develop proactive legal and advocacy strategies to defend and advance their civil and human rights in state and federal court, before international human rights tribunals, and through high-impact campaigns.

I help human rights defenders, non-profits, and funders manage legal risk and protect against repressive government overreach so they can continue their important work.
